In the speech of the chief guest, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md. Shahriar Alam said maintaining law and order among the Rohingya and ensuring their safety is one of the most challenging tasks for any force, be it the police or the Armed Police Battalion (APBN).
Recently, the human rights organization Human Rights Watch issued a statement criticizing the law enforcement agencies of Bangladesh. It is said there that the standard of law enforcement in Bangladesh is not acceptable. In this regard, the state minister said that underestimating the capacity and sacrifices of Bangladesh’s law enforcement agencies means underestimating the challenges they are facing with the Rohingyas.
The State Minister for Foreign Affairs said that Bangladesh spent 1.2 billion dollars for the Rohingyas in 2021. There the international community has struggled to raise half of that.
