Munich – (dpa)
A fire broke out in a building in the German city of Munich, inhabited by more than 100 people, in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The district fire department said the building’s basement caught fire, prompting a large-scale operation involving nearly 250 emergency unit personnel.
The building was evacuated due to thick smoke, and three injured people were taken to hospital. Residents of the building have also been moved to a nearby school gymnasium.
The fire brigade called for reinforcements from Munich, Planidge, Grevelving, Taufkirchen, Kreiling, and other areas. The police are investigating the cause of the fire.
