Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran was quoted by local media as saying that an explosion occurred in a mosque in the northwestern part of the capital. Several media say that the Imam of that mosque named Siddiqui was killed in the explosion.
However, it has not yet been confirmed who attacked. A week ago, a suicide bomber killed a pro-Taliban religious leader in Kabul. The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack.
Police spokesman Khalid Zadran said security forces have already been sent to the blast site near the capital.
Emergency, an Italian-based agency operating in Kabul, said they had confirmed three deaths so far.
