A major disturbance was caused last Tuesday on a Jet2 flight from Lanark, Cyprus to Manchester, as a woman twice attempted to break into the plane’s cockpit shouting “Allahu Akbar”. Photos released on social media show a scene of chaos and at least two police officers attempting to arrest her.
British media even report that the 30-year-old woman was only in her underwear, while hinting that she had explosives with her. She also asked the children on the flight with her if they were “ready to die.” According to the reports, she also told terrified passengers and staff that her parents were members of the terrorist organization ISIS.
The 30-year-old woman was restrained by 35-year-old Philip O’Brien, who was on the plane with six other family members, including his wife and three children aged eight to 14. The 35-year-old, who worked as a security guard as a teenager, told the Mirror of the incident: “When the woman headed back towards the cockpit I took control, pinned her to the ground and at that point the pilot made an emergency landing in Paris.” .
