Rickshaw driver Abdul Hannan told Prothom Alo that a passenger boarded his rickshaw from Sholshahar Gate No. 2 area of the city on Sunday afternoon. The passenger went down to Lalkhan Bazar. Then the 30-year-old passenger left without paying the fare.
Later Hannan found a note in the rickshaw. It is written there, ‘Abdul Hannan, you made a mistake by handing over our sons to the police. You have to pay 50 thousand rupees. Otherwise they will be killed.’
Abdul Hannan called 999 and reported the matter. Later Khulshi police contacted him.
Officer-in-charge of Khulshi police station OC Santosh Kumar Chakma told Prothom Alo last night that the police station has been booked in connection with the threat to rickshaw driver Abdul Hannan. The matter is being investigated.
