Today, Wednesday, the Sidi M’hamed Court postponed the trial of the former Minister of National Solidarity, Djamel Ould Abbas, to the 6th of July.
The request to postpone the case came from Ould Abbas’s defense team, after he was ill. Ould Abbas continues in the case of his embezzlement of the funds of victims of terrorism that were provided by the Emir of Kuwait to Algeria as a subsidy, as the late President Abdelaziz Bouteflika received that money, estimated at more than 40 thousand dollars.
Ould Abbas faces charges related to corruption, embezzlement of public funds, waste of public funds and abuse of office.
