Books – Ali Al-Bahaji:
Essam Abdel-Fattah, head of the referees committee of the Egyptian Football Association, confirmed that the upcoming summit between Al-Ahly and Zamalek will be directed by foreign referees.
Abdel-Fattah said in statements on Ontime Sports 1: “The top match so far will be with foreign referees, and Al-Ahly asked to bring in referees from the five major leagues, and Germany apologized.”
He added, “It is not a condition that the best referees from these five major leagues, and my evaluation of the Egyptian referees in the league is 8 out of 10.”
And he moved to talk about the ongoing controversy after Al-Ahly and Enppi’s recent confrontation in the league, saying: “Enppi objected to what in the Al-Ahly match? Whoever said that Enppi lost by an effective action must be held accountable by the Competitions Committee.”
He continued: “Al-Ahly did not have a penalty kick in the Enppi match, and Al-Ahly’s second goal is correct.”
And he concluded: “If Issam Abdel-Fattah is the problem, I will leave my position immediately and speak with all his credibility, and the current crisis is a million percent fabricated, and we have errors and we work professionally, and arbitration will remain the weakest link in the system until a pause occurs.”
