Today, Sunday, the Al-Ahly club’s board of directors issued a number of decisions during its meeting, which took place this evening, headed by Mahmoud Al-Khatib, and in the presence of the Board of Directors of Al-Ahly Football Company, all matters related to the final match of the Champions League.
At the forefront of the meeting, the follow-up to the legal measures taken by the club before the International Sports Court during the past days, after the late announcement by the Confederation of African Football that the final match of the Champions League will be held in a particular stadium for the second year in a row, which is inconsistent with the application of justice between the competing clubs.
Al-Ahly reviewed the position of the club’s legitimate requests that were sent to “K” several days ago, most notably allocating half the capacity of the stadium in which the match will be held to Al-Ahly fans, and that the club will pay the financial value of half the number of match tickets in all categories.
The meeting witnessed a discussion of the attempts of some on social media to provoke a dispute between Al-Ahly club and its brother, Wydad Moroccan Club, due to the current events regarding the final stadium, and the council discussed the complaint of many Al-Ahly fans about the high costs of the travel trip to Morocco, as well as determining the head of Al-Ahly’s mission when the team goes Ball to Casablanca in the coming days.
The decisions of the Board of Directors were as follows:
Continuing the club’s lawsuit before the International Sports Court, regardless of the upcoming repercussions (positive or negative), to establish the principle of justice away from any “fake” disputes with sister clubs that some talk about, especially since the Confederation of African Football did not respond to the club’s legitimate requests that were sent to “K” four days ago.
The club supported a one-day trip for Al-Ahly fans wishing to travel to Morocco to support the team, at a rate of three thousand pounds for each traveler.
The Board of Directors thanked and saluted Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, for his understanding and agreement that the club’s treasury bears the aforementioned amount.
– The categorical rejection of the attempts of some to provoke a dispute with the brotherly Moroccan club Wydad, and the affirmation of what was stated in the previous meeting of the Board of Directors that the current dispute is with the African Union only, and that the reasons for its decision to determine the stadium for the final match are contradictory, and that Al-Ahly club is proud of the good relationship that binds it With all the sister Moroccan clubs and their officials.
Assigning Mahmoud Al-Khatib to head the football team’s mission in the African final and leaving setting the date for the team’s travel to see the technical staff.
