With the advent of summer, many people resort, once inside the house, to the use of fans and cooling devices, to alleviate this weather.
Dr. Tariq Bahiri, a consultant in internal medicine and children, explains, in a live broadcast to him on the page of the “Masrawy” website, that direct exposure to a drop in temperature from hot air to cold air (fan or cooling devices) is wrong, because it negatively affects the health of the body, Especially the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract (the nose, middle ear and throat area), it causes symptoms that may reach:
An increase in temperature.
Severe pain in the face.
– Difficulty swallowing.
Ear and toothache.
The doctor advised, it is better not to direct the fan on the human body while sleeping in hot weather, but the room must be cooled first and then sleep.
He also pointed out that the air conditioning is less harmful than the fan, since it helps to distribute the cold air in the room on a regular basis and indirectly to the body.
He gave several tips for dealing with hot weather, as follows:
Eating cold liquids (medium temperature), not refrigerated.
– In the event someone has an upper respiratory infection, and its symptoms may include a high temperature, difficulty swallowing, mucous secretions in the throat and trachea area, it is not recommended to take any antibiotics, because this condition is not due to any bacterial infection, but rather occurs as a result of a direct decrease in temperatures.
Not directing the fan directly to the body, because direct air can infect some of the internal organs of the body, such as: the kidneys, muscles, joints and bones, with infections, which may cause severe pain.
