Ceramica Cleopatra striker Basem Morsi commented on his team’s 1-1 draw against Al-Ahly in the match that brought them together, on Saturday evening, in the 17th round of the Egyptian Premier League.
Basem Morsi scored the goal for Ceramica in the 87th minute, before Mohamed Magdy Afsha equalized from a penalty kick for Al-Ahly in the 101st minute.
And Morsi said in statements to “On Time Sports” channel: “Praise be to God, may God always grant me success against Al-Ahly, and I used to score in front of them.”
He added, “We played against a respectable and big team, and the point is important and big for us.”
He continued, “Captain Haitham Shaaban played a great match and entered the match with more than one scenario. He is a great technical director and succeeded in dividing the match into parts, and our goal from the beginning was to win.”
He continued, “I will not talk about refereeing, because surely the referee, like the players, wants to perform well, and in the end, thank God for the point.”
He continued, “I wish success to our share in the upcoming matches, and we can continue the positive results.”
He concluded: “We managed to achieve good results and got 4 points in the Pyramids and Al-Ahly matches, and we hope to continue with that.”
Al-Ahly is in second place in the league table with 33 points and has three games postponed. Ceramica is in the thirteenth place with 18 points.
