Dr. Gad El-Qadi, head of the National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research, stated that, according to the astronomical calculations carried out by the Institute’s Sun Research Laboratory, the globe will witness a partial solar eclipse on Saturday, April 30, 2022 AD, starting at 8:45 pm Cairo time.
He said, “At 10:22 pm Cairo time, the eclipse peaks, as the moon’s shadow covers about 64% of the area of the sun’s disk, and at this moment the conjunction of the month of Shawwal for the year 1443 AH occurs.
That is, the birth of the month of Shawwal begins immediately after this moment.
He added, “It can be seen in (southern and western South America – the Pacific Ocean – the Atlantic Ocean – part of Antarctica and cannot be seen in Egypt), and the partial eclipse from its beginning to its end will take approximately three hours and fifty-four minutes.”
He continued, “The eclipse ends exactly at twelve and 37 minutes, Cairo time, on Sunday morning, May 1, 2022 AD, and the following map shows the path of the partial eclipse of the sun, and this institute will organize a scientific lecture on this eclipse that will be broadcast live.”
