The services of the Ministry of Trade and Export Promotion have developed a special program to ensure a regular supply of consumer foods to citizens on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr 2022.
To this end, 2,265 supervisory staff have been assigned throughout the national territory to monitor the execution of the program for this aid. 49,853 traders have been instructed for its implementation. Of these, 6,250 are active in the bakery sector and 28,458 in the general food, vegetable and fruit sector, and 14,682 in the miscellaneous activities sector and 482 production units (230 dairies, 206 mills and 46 mineral water production units.
The trade department of the wilaya of Algiers has set up a program concerning the opening of businesses during Eid El Fitr, with 3,690 traders during the two days of Eid, who will ensure a watch. In addition to 480 bakeries, to ensure the supply of basic foodstuffs to the citizens of the capital.
The permanence of the merchants of Algiers on the occasion of the two days of the aïd, intervenes according to a decision returned by the wali of the wilaya of Algiers, under the n° 2861 dated April 14.
Thus, 3,690 traders have been designated, as well as 480 bakers out of 651 registered bakers in the capital.
On the other hand, 1,647 merchants specializing in the sale of foodstuffs, vegetables and fruits are called upon to ensure that the opening is maintained during Eid.
Traders engaged in other activities, “cafes, restaurants, tobacconists, barbers, butchers and others” which are also expected to open during Eid, are estimated at 1,548 traders.
