Hadi Khashaba, the former Al-Ahly club player and the Egyptian national team, revealed the sympathy of some rulers with him when he was a player in the Red Genie.
Khashaba said in televised statements to the Qatari “Al-Rai” channel: “There was sympathy with me from the referees because I was not a harmful player and all the referees were aware of this.”
Khashaba added: “I am the first player in history to obstruct a player inside the penalty area, and I did not get a red card and I took two penalties in that match. The referee of the match was Reda El-Beltagy, and I thank him for his sympathy.”
When asked about the opportunity for Hossam Ghaly to take over the presidency of Al-Ahly club, he said: “Hossam Ghaly is not qualified to head Al-Ahly club at the present time, and he must gain more experience from Captain Mahmoud Al-Khatib and the current council in order to become qualified to head the club.”
