Today, Friday, a ministerial delegation traveled to the city of Bordj Bou Arreridj to offer condolences and attend the funeral of the victims of the gas explosion that caused the collapse of a house yesterday, Thursday, commissioned by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
The ministerial delegation consists of the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and Urban Development, Kamal Beljoud, Minister of Health Abdel Rahman Benbouzid, and Minister of National Solidarity, Family and Women’s Issues, Kawthar Kriko.
The delegation will attend the funeral ceremony for the bodies of the victims, which will be held this afternoon in the cemetery of Sidi Betqa, in addition to standing on the remnants of this tragic accident, which left 10 victims, according to the latest outcome of the Civil Protection.
As a reminder, the death toll from the gas explosion that led to the collapse of a house yesterday, Thursday, in the district of July 5, in the center of Bordj Bou Arreridj, has risen to 10, after the body that was under the rubble was recovered Friday morning.
Major Ali Dahman Rabeh, in charge of information and communication in the same directorate, said that the body of the tenth victim was recovered from under the rubble in the early hours of Friday morning.
Also, 17 wounded people were registered in the vicinity of the accident, 15 of them received the necessary care in the same health structure and left, leaving only two wounded people under medical observation.
The reasons for the explosion that shook this 3-storey family building were due to a gas leak that also damaged a number of neighboring buildings.
