homemade Nutella ingredients
3 cups raw or roasted unsalted hazelnuts
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
2/3 cup dark chocolate
How to make Nutella at home
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (176 degrees Celsius).
Add the hazelnuts to the baking tray in a single layer.
If it’s raw, grill it for 12-15 minutes. If it’s already toasted, grill it for 8-10 minutes just to warm up the natural oils and make the crust softer to mix with the butter.
Take it out of the oven and let it cool a bit, then transfer it to a large kitchen towel and remove the nut peels with your hands.
Add hazelnuts to a food processor or high-speed blender. Blend until butter forms, about 8-10 minutes total.
Meanwhile, heat the chocolate over a kettle or in the microwave and set it aside.
Once the nut butter is creamy and smooth, add the vanilla and salt and mix well, then add the melted chocolate a little at a time and mix again until well blended.
Taste and adjust ingredients as needed, you can add more salt or vanilla if desired.
If Nutella is not sweet enough, add stevia to taste, or 1-2 tablespoons of maple syrup.
Transfer to an airtight container and store at room temperature for daily use for 2-3 weeks or longer.
