Pabna Sadar Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Aminul Islam said the situation was brought under control after receiving information. The university administration has promised to take action in the incident. A meeting with university and motor workers is scheduled for the evening. He hopes that the problem will be solved if the two sides sit together.
Mosharraf Hossain, convener of the district motor workers’ union, said it was unacceptable for anyone to beat a transport worker from time to time. The police and the university administration have asked them for 12 hours. They promised to take action against the students involved. So they lifted the blockade. If they do not take proper action, they will go to the movement again.
Asma Haque, section officer of Pabna University of Science and Technology, said the university administration was looking into the matter. Who caused this incident is being investigated. Necessary action must be taken if students commit a crime.
