The Minister of Finance, Dr. Mohamed Maait, inaugurated the Egyptian Heritage and Handicrafts Exhibition at the Ministry of Finance, in the presence of Ahmed Abdel Razek, the permanent undersecretary of the ministry, according to a statement from the Ministry of Finance today, Monday.
The Minister directed the organization of this exhibition periodically, and in a place that accommodates more exhibits; In order to provide a good window, in a sustainable way, to market the heritage products of the people of the border towns; To enable them to develop their handicrafts that embody our authentic Egyptian heritage.
He stressed his keenness to provide all possible facilities to owners of heritage products and handicrafts in the border cities, and to provide a good competitive business environment that would help them expand their production activities.
Addressing the exhibitors, the minister said: “We are happy to have you with us at the Ministry of Finance, and we are honored to host you in adequate housing for free, and you have all our support to help you grow your business, develop your occupations, and increase your production.”
He added that the ministry spares no effort in providing all the necessary mechanisms that enable participants to display their handmade products; In a way that contributes to improving the lives of productive families in border cities.
The Minister reiterated his keenness to motivate owners of small and micro enterprises to encourage the national industry, in a way that helps in achieving economic growth and providing more job opportunities.
Ahmed Abdel Razek, permanent undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, affirmed the ministry’s keenness to organize these exhibitions on a regular basis. As a free marketing window for small business owners, it serves the employees of the Ministries of Finance, Trade and Industry and citizens as well, by providing products at low prices and high quality, within the framework of the state’s keenness to expand outlets selling goods at reasonable prices.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Finance is keen to provide adequate housing to host exhibitors; This will reduce the burden on their shoulders in a way that is reflected in the reduction of the profit margin.
The most prominent commodities on display include: cotton furniture, handmade kilims, leather goods, dates, olive oil, handmade accessories, copperware, frames, tent products, Aswan spices, ceramics, pottery, rock salt, and bedspreads, according to Dalia Fouad, head of the unit.
