The candidate for the presidency of the Honduran Parliament, Jorge Calix, escaped from behind the podium during the swearing-in, following fistfights.
This came after twenty members defected from the party of the country’s elected president, Chiomara Castro, a week before she took office, and the exchange of insults began with the opening of the parliament session when the twenty deputies of the Freedom and Reestablishment Party (left) proposed one of them, Jorge Calix, to occupy the position of Parliament Speaker, according to Euro News.
