Today, Wednesday, 1/19/2022 AD, the Food Technology Research Institute is organizing a seminar entitled “International Publication and Author’s Instructions in International Scientific Journals” under the supervision of Dr. Shakir Arafat, Director of the Institute.
Dr. Engy Majed Shams El-Din, researcher in the Department of Special Food and Nutrition Research, will present at ten in the morning in the main hall of the institute, the seminar that includes many important topics in the field of publishing in international scientific journals, including the ethics of scientific publishing, international journals, property rights, and types of publication in international scientific journals. How to follow the step-by-step instructions of the authors, title page contents for research, specifications of tables and images included in the research, instructions for writing references, and how to obtain permission to reuse previously published materials.
It is worth mentioning that the Institute of Food Technology obtained the ISO 9001 certificate and the certificate of validity of the Institute in the field of training and qualification in the field of quality management and food safety, in order to serve food establishments.
This new achievement comes thanks to the efforts of researchers at the Institute of Food Technology and their role in maximizing their use in developing the food manufacturing sector in order to ensure the provision of healthy, safe and nutritious food for all, through the importance of linking scientific research with industry, which has a direct positive impact on consumer health to protect it from bad diseases. Nutrition, such as obesity, thinness, anemia and dwarfism, and explaining their causes and how to combat them through good balanced food.
Three researchers at the Institute of Food Technology also won three awards from the Scientific Food Society, where Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Khashaba won the first place award for the best doctoral thesis. The thesis was titled “Extraction methods and their effect on the output, quality and protection of some vegetable oils using the encapsulation technique.”
Dr. Osama Mohamed Mabrouk also won the second place award for the best doctoral thesis, which was entitled “Developing edible active packaging from natural sources to extend the shelf life of some freshly prepared fruits.”
Dr. Tamer Shaaban, an assistant researcher at the institute, won the award for the best master’s thesis, which was entitled “Studies on the fat of buffalo milk axis”.
This competition comes within the framework of shedding light on the importance of the role of applied scientific research and linking it to food manufacturing by motivating and encouraging researchers and maximizing the benefit of their research outputs and applying them on the ground.
