The Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade has intensified the supply of food commodities in 38,000 outlets, complexes and grocery stores to meet the high prices in global markets and stock exchanges, especially basic commodities, especially sugar, oils, rice and pasta, through the ration card system, from which about 65 people benefit. million citizens, or through goods that are offered freely in government or private outlets.
And it fixed and reduced prices compared to the markets, where sugar is offered at 850 piasters, about 5 pounds less than the prices in the free market, and oil is offered at 25 pounds per kilo, and rice is offered at a price ranging between 8 and 10 pounds, where about 5,000 tons are offered daily. Sugar, 3,000 tons of oil, 1,000 tons of rice, and 1,000 tons of pasta, in addition to the funds raised in the private sector and commercial chains.
Dr. Ali Moselhi, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, stated that a number of measures are being implemented to control markets, limit price hikes and confront manipulators, in implementation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives, to provide basic commodities at reasonable prices, while allowing citizens to voluntarily disburse any commodities equivalent to the value of the support allocated to them. On the cards, after increasing the number of goods distributed on the cards to 35, which include all the family’s food needs.
Major General Ahmed Hassanein, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Holding Company for Food Industries, confirmed that instructions were issued to the two wholesale companies (the General – Egyptian to pump all the needs of the outlets for the exchange of food commodities of commodities daily, stressing that the distribution of 50% of the commodities and stocks for the month of December was completed within 10 days He pointed out that the wholesale stores, which number up to 1,500 stores in the governorates of the Republic, operate daily to distribute food commodities to all outlets, complexes and grocery stores.
