Saif al-Islam al-Gaddafi, 49, the son of the late Libyan ruler Muammar Gaddafi, has filed his nomination papers for the presidency. He submitted his nomination papers on Sunday. The conflict, which has been raging in Libya since the end of the Gaddafi era, is expected to be resolved in December.
According to a Reuters report, Saif al-Islam appeared at the election office in the city of Sebah in traditional Libyan attire. There he was seen signing nomination papers. An election official said Saif al-Islam had registered as a presidential candidate.
