Books – Ahmed Shaker:
Mohamed Homs, the former Ismaili star and assistant coach in the team’s technical staff, spoke about the future of the “dervishes” and the possibility of the team returning to its former glory.
In an interview with Masrawy, Homs said that his team had prepared strongly during the league’s suspension, and work is continuing to prepare the players physically and psychologically for the coming period.
Homs said that his team is preparing very strongly in order to appear in the best possible way against Zamalek when the league competition resumes, hoping to change the image in which the team started the season with three consecutive defeats.
Regarding the bad start of the season, Homs said: “We lost at the beginning of the season against Al-Ahly, which is a big team, and they started the game well against it, but the team suffered a psychological collapse after the second goal and it was not our day, then in the following matches we did not take advantage of opportunities and we were not at our level.”
Homs responded to the Yalla Kora editor’s questions, which came as follows:
What do you comment on the departure of Talaat Youssef?
Talaat Youssef is a great coach with great experience, but in the end this is football, his luck was bad due to the circumstances of his illness, I think his presence would have made it different during the first three matches.
What do you think of the absence of Ismaili stars from the national team?
The players must focus in the coming period in order for the team to witness the inclusion of the largest number of them. We have Shukri Najib, Baher Al-Mohammadi and Abdul Rahman Magdy. They can appear with the team if they work hard in the coming period.
What about Carlos Queiroz?
I can not judge him during the short period during which he worked in Egypt, but we all felt the improvement of the team, his mark appeared quickly, and I am optimistic about him because he has a great resume with major teams, I think he will do something big in Egypt.
What do you think of what Salah is doing now?
Salah is a global star now, no less than Messi and Ronaldo. He is our pride and we wish him success always, but we have to know that the atmosphere in England is not the same as in Egypt, in addition to that he continues there throughout the season while he comes to the team for short periods, and thus harmony With his best team.
