Financial crisis prevents contestants from spending generously
Observers of the country’s political affairs unanimously agree that the almost non-existent field trips of the candidates, and the absence of their pictures on the posters in the streets, made the first days of the election campaign for the next November 27 localities look dull and colder than the temperature of the weather.
They attributed this apathy to the delay of the National Elections Authority in controlling the lists of candidates, and the financial crisis afflicting the parties, which negatively affected the activity of the candidates and made them refuse to spend generously on the local race.
The atmosphere of the election campaign for the municipal and state council benefits seemed cold despite the passage of four days since its official launch. The street, according to observers, does not show much interest in these elections, despite it being the closest to it compared to the rest of the previous political benefits that the country knew about, such as the constitutional referendum, legislative elections, and before them the presidential elections, which I attributed to him. Observers of the constraints of the economic and social situation that the citizen suffers from as a result of the decline in the purchasing power of Algerians, has been further complicated by the health situation resulting from warnings of a fourth wave of the Corona virus.
Despite the participation of more than 40 political formations and free lists in the elections scheduled to be held on November 27, the delay in controlling the lists of political parties is one of the main factors in the apathy of the electoral campaign, especially since the latter is still struggling with what it described as “obstacles” in the new election law to survive. They were “alive” and participated in the largest number of electoral lists, which made the electoral campaign in its early days limited only to the interventions of the heads of political parties who rushed to present an electoral speech that did not go out of the way, as they focused on “the necessity of fighting corrupt money and causing a rupture while addressing the practices of the Covenant.” The previous one, in addition to the general description of the country and its involvement in the campaign to respond to Moroccan provocations.
In this regard, political analyst Muhammad Khoja said in a statement to Al-Shorouk that the electoral campaign for any political entitlement in its early days is modest and is distinguished by the absence of the public, and this general curve – according to him – will not have a significant impact on the conduct of the propaganda campaign, in addition to the second factor that He got on the line in the political elections taking place in the country, which is represented by most of the candidates resorting to social networking sites to promote their electoral programs.
Among the reasons for the citizens’ reluctance to attend the gatherings of candidates – the speaker says – is the nature of the local event, as it is not related to a national figure who has a strong presence and intense neighborhood activities.
Khoja said that “in the localities, the presence of candidates is limited only to the traditional spaces, which are cafes and tea rooms,” and that the weather – our speaker adds – had a great impact on the movement of candidates, especially in the early days of the election campaign.
