It says its expansion will encourage the emergence of shadow areas
The Ministry of Interior and Local Authorities is investigating the phenomenon of the spread of new residential buildings, constructed within the framework of real estate promotions, from urban areas and on lands that housed individual homes.
And the interests of Minister Kamal Beljoud, in a correspondence sent to the governors of the republic, requested to follow up on what it called “the phenomenon of the spread of real estate promotions and their impact on urbanization,” and stressed the governors of the republic and the interests concerned with the content of the correspondence’s implementation, “presenting a periodic monthly toll” to be submitted to the Minister of Interior.
The data that the Ministry of Interior is investigating include determining the number of individual buildings that have turned into collective buildings, in addition to their impact on the urban environment, the measures taken in this regard, the workshops that were launched to define and expand the urban environment in the short and long term, the areas designated for real estate developers for the expansion of cities, and ways to modernize Exploitation of tax bases and contribution fees in the expansion of public infrastructure and equipment.
The Ministry of the Interior confirmed that the phenomenon of collective residential buildings has “witnessed an upward trend,” and that the process is taking place either at the level of urban areas, or on lands that housed individual homes, which led to the transformation of elegant, quiet neighborhoods into neighborhoods with a high population density.
The Ministry of the Interior expects that the continuation of this phenomenon will lead to the saturation of public infrastructure and equipment, the decline of the services provided, as well as its impact on the conformity and harmony of the architectural plan that affects the aesthetics of cities. Such as Al-Dararia, Al-Duwaira, Al-Ashour, Burj Al-Kifan, Burj Al-Bahri, Dali Ibrahim, and other municipalities of the homeland that know, to varying degrees, the same situation of “urban chaos” as they called it, in addition to the distortion of some residential neighborhoods as a result of this new phenomenon.
