Testosterone (the male hormone) plays an important role in men’s health, as it helps maintain muscle mass, bone density and sex drive.
Some men are unaware that there are healthy foods that have an effective and positive effect on controlling the level of testosterone. In the report, we review these foods for you.
– tomatoes
Some fruits and vegetables, including tomatoes, contain a powerful antioxidant called lycopene, and some research may suggest that a diet rich in lycopene may help reduce the risk of prostate cancer.
Lycopene may reduce cell damage and slow the production of cancer cells. It’s an antioxidant, which means it protects cells from damage.
– broccoli
Vegetables contain many complex compounds that may help protect some people from cancer, and some studies suggest a link between the amount of cruciferous vegetables you eat and a lower risk of prostate cancer.
– Tuna
Rich in vitamin D, which is linked to a longer life and testosterone production, it is also a heart-healthy food that is rich in protein and low in calories.
Whether you choose canned or fresh, eating this fish can be a natural way to increase testosterone.
– ginger
Recent research suggests that this root may improve fertility in men, and according to the results of a 2012 study, taking a ginger supplement daily for 3 months increased testosterone levels by 17.7%.
– Green tea
Evidence suggests that special compounds in green tea may reduce the risk of prostate cancer by affecting tumor growth and cell death.
– pomegranate juice
Like green tea, pomegranate is a rich source of antioxidants, and is an excellent fruit due to its high levels of antioxidants, which are involved in preventing chronic diseases related to oxidative stress.
The National Cancer Institute notes that pomegranate juice and some of its bioactive components may help prevent prostate cancer cells from multiplying.
– oysters
It contains more zinc which is essential for healthy sperm and reproductive function.
Fatty fish and fish oil
The USDA recommends that people eat seafood twice a week, and fatty fish may be especially beneficial because it is rich in omega-3 fatty acids.
Results from an animal source study from 2016 suggest that fish oil can increase semen quality and blood testosterone levels.
– olive oil
Olive oil is an essential ingredient, and it’s also rich in monounsaturated fats and vitamin E, an antioxidant.
Consuming it may also improve the reproductive health of men, and results of a small-sized study suggest that the oil may increase testosterone levels in the blood of adult men.
