Dr. Sherifa Sherif reviewed the nature of the work of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development – the training arm of the Ministry of Planning -, which aims to apply the principles of governance in order to achieve Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the sustainable development goals.
She pointed out that the institute aims to forge partnerships with many regional and international educational and training institutions to provide a distinguished set of programs that are offered according to the latest training methods.
This came during the launch of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, in cooperation with the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development, to train a specialized group of the “Be an Ambassador” initiative with the aim of qualifying young people to implement the foundations of comprehensive sustainable development.
Sherif explained that among the institute’s specializations is following up on Egypt’s situation with all international indicators related to governance, competitiveness and sustainable development, and setting a national strategy and a national action plan to improve it in coordination with various state agencies. She explained that the institute holds awareness-raising meetings on governance and sustainable development; These are periodic, bi-monthly meetings that take place via Zoom technology for all workers in the different sectors in the state’s administrative apparatus, the public and private sectors and civil society. The dialogue sessions are presented by a number of effective practitioners in the field of implementing policies related to governance and sustainable development.
