Thirty-two (32) people died and 1,451 others were injured following 1,167 traffic accidents, which occurred between August 29 and September 4, 2021 across the national territory, according to a report made public this Tuesday by the Civil Protection services.
The heaviest toll was recorded in the wilaya of Oran with 3 people died at the scene of the accident and 59 others injured following 54 road accidents, said the same source. In addition, 1,134 urban, industrial and other fires were recorded in the country, notes the Civil Protection, which notes that the largest (135 fires) have been identified in the wilaya of Algiers.
Regarding activities to combat the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19), the civil protection units carried out, during the same period, 595 awareness-raising operations across 58 wilayas and 217 general disinfection operations across 58 wilayas, having affected all public and private infrastructures and buildings as well as neighborhoods and alleys.
