The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, received upon his arrival today, Tuesday, Nouakchott, as a special envoy of the President of the Republic, the Mauritanian President, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazwani, according to a statement by the ministry.
Mr. Lamamra conveyed to the Mauritanian President “fraternal greetings and the content of an oral message from his brother, the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune.” In turn, the Mauritanian President, the Minister Lamamra, “transferred his sincere greetings and deep appreciation to his brother, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune,” adding the same statement.
The meeting constituted, according to the same statement, “an opportunity to review bilateral relations and to emphasize the fraternal and historical ties that unite the two brotherly countries and peoples.
In addition, “the talks dealt with the current situation at the Maghreb and Arab levels, as well as the common challenges in the Sahel and Sahara region and ways to strengthen the year of consultation and coordination regarding African and Arab issues of common concern, especially the upcoming due date of the Arab summit in Algeria.”
