Citing eyewitnesses, police said a road was being constructed through the village of Holihatta. This afternoon, Miraj was learning to drive in the driver’s seat of a roller machine working on the road. The driver was sitting next to him and teaching him to drive. At one stage, at around 3 pm, the wheel fell on the soft ground on the side of the road and the roller machine overturned in the pond on the side of the road. Miraj was crushed under the roller in the water of the pond and died. Upon receiving the news, the fire service members from Bagharpara station went to the spot and recovered his body from the pond.
