Barcelona defender Gerard Pique described his compatriot coach Josep Guardiola as a man who carefully monitors the actions of his players and seeks to tighten his grip.
And technical Josep Guardiola trained defender Gerard Pique in the Barcelona team, between 2008 and 2012.
Pique said that his relationship with Guardiola was strained, and he almost left the Blaugrana team at the end of the 2011-2012 season.
And at the end of the aforementioned season, Guardiola left the Barcelona coaching staff, instead of crying.
The blond defender explained, in statements carried by the Spanish press, on Monday, that Guardiola was disturbed when he saw him, accompanied by the Colombian singer Shakira (later his wife).
Pique added that Guardiola is “obsessed” with knowing what his players do after the end of the interviews, and when they leave the club’s headquarters!
