The regional health director of the wilaya of Sétif Hakim Dehane, assured today Friday, that the major vaccination campaign should be started across the entire national territory from tomorrow, and will extend until Saturday 11 September, with service schedules that will be deployed between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. daily.
Note that the operation will be considered the largest of its kind, and that it will include all towns, villages, cities and other isolated areas of the country.
The health director said in an interview with radio Sétif that 510 localities in his wilaya will be affected, with an operational workforce of 166 vaccination teams, including medical and paramedical staff who will use up the remaining reserves of vaccines estimated at 260 thousand doses. Adding that the health department has taken all the necessary measures for the proper functioning of this operation which will involve officials from hospital institutions, as well as all those who work directly or indirectly in the health sector who may be invited to participate in the program if necessary.
Dehane expressed his optimism about the influx of citizens, showing his wish to see the wilaya of Sétif at the top of the localities with the most vaccination rates, considering that this practice remains the only solution to face the 4th wave. to come, if we do not want to suffer further loss of human life.
Indeed, the director of health reported on a scientific study carried out by the Sétif hospital, which indicates that all deaths due to covid concerned unvaccinated patients.
Conversely, no death was recorded among the vaccinated people, which demonstrates the role and especially the major importance of the vaccine.
He added in this sense that his management granted accreditations to 18 pharmacies to operate as vaccination centers, except that the operation did not get off to a good start and recorded a low attendance, the same for the centers. vaccination program in schools which have seen a low participation rate from education officials, to whom he reiterated his invitation to take part in the program to ensure a successful and safe return to school.
Regarding the general viral state prevailing in the wilaya of Sétif, Mr. Dehane said that it was rather stable compared to the last time, that the number of patients is decreasing, but that the situation was only temporary, which allowed us to resume surgical operations at the Sétif hospital, and to gradually return to ordinary activity, ensuring that it was now possible to resume normal functioning of the hospital, with among other things a reprogramming of previously scheduled operations , with a view to stabilizing the current pandemic situation.
