At least 30 people have been killed in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The incident took place last Saturday in the country’s restive northeastern province of Ituri. The news agency AFP reported on Monday. It is suspected that the rebel group Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) was behind the killings.
Local official Dudon Malangai said 14 bodies were initially found. Later, civilians rescued the bodies of 16 more people from the jungle. A civilian involved in the rescue operation said most of the dead had sharp weapons and bullet marks on their bodies.
