Taliban fighters in the eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad have taken to the streets in a truck carrying a man wearing two stolen car tires around his neck, Afghan Urdu wrote on its Twitter page.
“A man was arrested in Jalalabad for stealing two car tires. “Both tires had been passed through the neck of the thief, who was circling the city,” the text reads.
In the photos posted on this page, it appears that a man is standing in the body of the jeep next to the gunmen, from whose neck hang the tires that are painted in gold.
The punishment is a warning to other thieves, according to the Taliban, who have said they will bring order to the country by imposing harsh measures.
