Ahmed Hossam “Mido”, the former player of the Egyptian national team and Zamalek, launched a fierce attack on Hossam Al-Badri, the coach of the first Egyptian team, after the draw against Gabon in the African qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The national team was a guest on Sunday evening against its Gabonese counterpart in the second round of the sixth group of the teams participating in the African qualifiers for the World Cup, and the meeting ended in a positive tie with one goal for each.
During his radio program “Ahla Sabah”, broadcast on “Youth and Sports” radio, Mido said: “Changes in the formation are normal due to the pressure of the matches, but there are technical and tactical errors on the part of Al-Badri that an amateur coach does not fall into. Al-Badri is tense and this feeling reached the players.”
He added: “A state of estrangement between the Egyptian fans and the national team, and everyone is sad about the team’s lackluster performance in recent matches.”
The former Zamalek coach continued: “The quick solution in the current period is the departure of Hossam El-Badri’s apparatus from the national team, and the idea of appointing Vingada to lead the Pharaohs is a failure and will not benefit us at all.”
He continued: “Ihab Galal has a great technical and tactical value and is able to lead the team. Hossam Hassan also has a high spirit and can give the players a great moral boost to lead the Egyptian team towards qualification for the World Cup.”
Mido also blamed Mustafa Muhammad for what he did after the end of the match, and the former national team player commented: “There are problems between Al-Badri and Mustafa Muhammad, and the latter feels that Al-Badri is prejudiced against him.”
And he concluded: “Mustafa Mohamed was sad that he did not participate in the main game against Gabon, and an investigation must be opened with the player because of what he did.”
