Hydration is one of the most important keys to staying healthy, feeling comfortable, and keeping the body’s natural processes running normally.
To stay hydrated, you should drink plenty of fluids, but not just any fluids, as there are many drinks that can cause dehydration when consumed on a very hot day.
Here are 3 drinks that you should not take on a very hot day, according to what the “eatthis” website reported.
– Alcohol:
Drinking alcohol leads to dehydration, as it inhibits production of the hormone vasopressin, which helps keep body fluid levels in balance.
It is also considered a diuretic, which means more urination, and this can lead to dehydration even without the heat.
– Soda
When you’re thirsty and need a little refreshment for energy, a drink like cold soda may seem like a great choice to many, however, remember that caffeine can also cause dehydration.
– sugary drinks
These drinks may also seem refreshing when the weather is hot, but these high-sugar and high-calorie drinks can keep your body feeling full.
One problem with this when it comes to hydration is that if you’re already feeling full, the need to drink a good amount of water may seem less appealing to you.
