Books – Masrawy:
Ahmed Hassan, the former captain of the Egyptian national team, blamed Mostafa Mohamed, the Zamalek striker, loaned to Galatasaray and the Egyptian national team, for his behavior during the World Cup qualifiers meeting Gabon.
Egypt and Gabon drew 1-1, scored by Mostafa Mohamed in the deadly time before the end of the match.
After Mustafa Mohamed scored the equalizing goal, the Egyptian striker took off his shirt and directed angry expressions towards the national team’s bench.
Ahmed Hassan said in statements to “On Time Sports 1” channel: “There is confusion and they know that there is a problem, but it should not be solved in this way, and Mustafa Mohamed was told to go out and speak and calm the atmosphere, but there must be a decision and it must be taken.”
He added: “What was done was to send an opposite message to people by removing Mustafa Muhammad to the media in order to indicate that there is no problem, and the team should have met and see what Mustafa Muhammad’s mistake is or clarify after that.”
And he continued: “I hope that Mustafa Mohamed focuses only on the field, and of course I blame him, any behavior like this is unacceptable even if he sees himself as having to play.”
Al-Sager concluded: “An unacceptable behavior, you are only a player. You must respect the coach and his decisions, but this indicates that there is a crisis.”
