Engineer Hani Abu Raida, member of the FIFA Council, member of the Executive Office of the Confederation of African Football, and Vice-President of the Arab Federation, attends the meetings of the European Club Association that are taking place in Geneva, after he left Cairo recently to attend the meetings.
Abu Rida participates in the European club meetings, representing the Swiss Gianni Infantino, President of the International Football Association “FIFA”, describing Abu Rida as the oldest member of the FIFA Council in its current formation.
The General Council of the European Club Association will meet on 6 and 7 September in Geneva for the first time since the “Super League” crisis, as it will be the first meeting held by the European Club Association in person since September 2019.
It will also be the first meeting of the European Club Association since the announcement of the establishment of the European Super League last April and the decision taken by the Executive Committee of the League on August 16 regarding the readmission of the nine clubs that abandoned this project: Milan, Arsenal, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham, coinciding with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus sticking to their position.
The European Club Association stated that the clubs participating in the meeting will discuss the mechanism of rebuilding football after the Corona virus epidemic and will define the role of their representatives in the agreement to be concluded by the European Football Association to analyze the future of football.
Nasser Al-Khelaifi, president of Paris Saint-Germain and the European Club Association, who took over this position last April, succeeding Andrea Agnelli, will be one of the speakers at the upcoming meeting, and many stakeholders will participate in the meeting, such as the heads of federations, the International Football Players Association and representatives of fans.
