Many housewives suffer from the problem of unpleasant odors emitted from the refrigerator, especially those who are keen to keep a lot of vegetables and fruits for a longer period. And make it unacceptable sometimes.
Although we use the refrigerator drawer to save fruits and vegetables from damage, their accumulation inside the drawer may cause moisture and damage, which leads to an unpleasant smell in the refrigerator. According to thesun.com.
All you need is a standard kitchen sponge, the kind used to clean pots and pans, it can make perishable items last longer in the fridge.
Vegetables are expensive, so it’s always annoying when they spoil, just take a sponge and put it in the vegetable drawer along with the carrots and apples and you’ll be amazed at how long they last.
The reason things like carrots and broccoli get soft in the fridge is because there’s a lot of moisture in them, so putting a sponge in there solves the problem, because it’s designed to absorb excess water.
The idea is to put a sponge (or several if you feel the flickering) at the bottom of the tray with the food on top.
