The process of exceptional review of the electoral lists will start this Sunday and until the 15th of this month, in anticipation of the state and municipal council elections scheduled for the 27th of next November.
The head of the Independent National Electoral Authority will pay an inspection visit to the wilaya of Algiers to see the conditions for the launch of the process, which he will signal from the Mohammedia municipality in the capital.
The Independent National Electoral Authority had called on citizens who are not registered in the electoral lists, especially those who are 18 years old on polling day (November 27, 2021), to register themselves at the level of the municipal committee to review the electoral lists in the municipality of their residence.
And the authority ended to the citizens’ knowledge that “the period of exceptional review of electoral lists opens from September 5, 2021 until September 15, 2021, and this is in accordance with the signing of the presidential decree specifying the date of calling the electoral college on November 27, 2021 to elect members of the municipal and state popular councils.”
The authority indicated that “women and voters who have changed their residence should approach the municipal committee to review the electoral lists of the new residence in order to re-register them, and the registration request must be accompanied by a document proving the identity of the person concerned and another document proving his residence.”
The authority stated that the offices of the municipal committee to review the electoral lists “remain open every day of the week from nine (9) in the morning until four and a half (16:30) in the evening, except for Friday.”
As for female citizens and citizens residing abroad and registered with Algerian diplomatic representations and consulates, the authority indicated that “they can request their registration in the electoral list of one of the following municipalities: the municipality of the person’s birthplace, the municipality of the last home of the person concerned, the municipality of the birthplace of one of the assets of the person concerned, in accordance with the provisions of Article 57 of Ordinance 24-01 of March 10, 2021 containing the organic law relating to the electoral system.
