Cairo – Masrawy:
An official source within the Egyptian Football Association confirmed that the intention is to assign the task of coaching the Egyptian national team to the Portuguese, Nilo Vingada, in the event of a decision to leave the current coach, Hossam El Badry.
And the source – who reserved his name – indicated in exclusive statements to Masrawy, that it would be difficult to sign a new coach for the national team who would accept responsibility in light of the time constraints during the current period.
The source said: “So far, there is no decision to leave Al-Badri, but if it happens, the closest will be Nelo Vengada, the technical director of the Football Association, to take over the coaching of the national team.”
He added, “It will be difficult to sign a new technical director in light of the lack of time and the rapid progression of the World Cup qualifiers during the next two months.”
He concluded: “In the event of contracting with Vingada, he will be the technical director of the Football Association as it is, provided that he will take charge of the World Cup qualifiers until the completion of the World Cup qualifiers, after which a coach will be contracted to take charge of the African Nations Cup.”
