The Ministry of National Education, through the Directorate of Education of the State of Tizi Ouzou, confirmed that the volume of the Amazigh language course has not been affected, and it is included in the students’ timetables according to purely pedagogical standards, while calling for not to be drawn into rumors widely circulated on social networking sites.
The Directorate of Education of Tizi Ouzou stated that, due to rumors on social media pages about canceling the teaching of the Amazigh language during school entry for the upcoming school season 2021/2022, and in order to enlighten public opinion and the educational family in particular, including the Berber language teachers, a meeting was held. An emergency in the presence of the Amazigh language subject inspectors, where it was confirmed that the article was not excluded from the educational organization currently under the authority of the guardianship ministry, as it is enshrined in the constitution as a national and official language.
The directorate stressed that after studying Ministerial Circular No. 1394 of August 14, 2021, it became clear that the Amazigh language will be studied like the rest of the subjects.
